Re: Axo and the fish
Not to be unhelpful but...it depends.
So you think uberfish will bluff occassionally. The pot should be laying you 6:1 or so at this point, so do you think he has no A more than 1:6 you call, if not fold. And how do we determine that? History with that player, the board's texture (did any obvious draws get there? Was there a two flush/straighty flop that did not complete but he might bluff at now?), how likely your hand is to be good even if he doesn't have the A (any common two pair combos/another overcard/draws?). There's not really a set play here. But just because they love to play any ace, doesn't mean they are more likely to be dealt one. And players who play any ace love to play a lot more bad hands and take those to showdown too. |

Re: Axo and the fish
Yea thats how I have been playing it. double draws like 98A22 and 2 spades Im calling the river.
A6256 rainbow is another matter. Its really tough sometimes. They just autocall which either means the draw or the ace. The old "I'm just gunna have to see your better ace mr." Just seeing if anyone else had any insight. |

Re: Axo and the fish
I'd call 'em. Like Barron said, you want this guy to keep playing his rag Ax because, in the long run he's going to lose much more playing those cards than he's going to win. You'll win more times than lose, and even when you lose, you're giving the fish a little tidbit that will make him think it's cool to hold the Ax because he won a pot.

Re: Axo and the fish
Now with all that said wouldnt a fish eventually catch on?
He sees you just bet all the way down to the end and now he only calls with the ace on the river and DOESNT call anymore with the 55 pair. Maybe I am giving them too much credit. I think if the fish is slightly perceptive you have to check it once in a while, maybe? I notice when I see a guy just bet, bet, bet all the way reguardless of the board after he PF raised. |

You will often have a suited broadway ace when you bet through on an A-high board, so that's their incentive not to bluff raise. They will still call down with bottom pair because they're not trying to read your hand. Again, that's why they are fish. |
