Default Re: B+M etiquette????

You have it backwards. He called you, the bettor is supposed to show his cards first and the caller has a right to muck them of course if he doesnt have the winning hand.

Obviously by rule you can ask to see them but it's nitty to do so.

So the etiquette actually is the bettor (or first checker) always shows, anyone else can muck. If you ask to see the caller's cards everyone will think you are being a nit.

On the other hand a lot of times the bettor doesnt want to show so they use this delay tactic to fool the caller into showing his hand first, and then they muck theirs. It's okay to ask to see their cards then because they were "suppose" to show first anyway. If they cry about it tell them they should of just shown them then.

Oh ya and this belongs on the B&M board.

You may or may not be an A-hole but certainly not for asking to see the callers cards if you the completed showdown. Perfectly legit as I understand it. Ask the dealer.
