This offseason so far should be a signal that something already has changed. Personally, I see this as a good sign. It may result in a couple down years for the Yankees, but by redevoting themselves to their farm teams, I think they will have a nice resurgence.

There is so much unknown in Yankee finances that I have no doubt that if they lost any money, it's in low 7 figures and not these high 8 figure reports.

Nope, there's many parts of income that are not under revenue sharing. It's how teams like Pittsburgh can cry that they're losing money when in reality, they've made millions each year since that [censored] bought the team.

Sure, but you still have to pay taxes. I'd be surprised if the NYDN would be so lazy in their reporting.

I'm not saying they are lazy, I'm just saying that there is a lot of unknowns when it comes to major sports teams. They are a privately owned, privately run industry which doesn't require full disclosure to the public.
