$55 NL SNG...Aces vs. Monotone flop
Anyone have a better line for this? 1st level (10/15) of $55 SnG, maybe 5th hand so no meaningful reads. EP this hand has approximately T950. I have about the same.
I am in cutoff with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. EP and MP limp. I raise to T70. Blinds fold and limpers call. Flop comes 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Checked to me and I bet T150 in to T235 pot. EP check-raises to T400. If you call (I did), EP pushes remaining chips (~T475) on blank turn. What's the play? |

Re: $55 NL SNG...Aces vs. Monotone flop
I would probably push over the c/r, but your line is fine too. I could probably lay down red aces here, but not with the Ac.
Edit: Oops, call the turn push. But that's why I like coming over the top of the c/r... doesn't put you in that tough spot. |

Re: $55 NL SNG...Aces vs. Monotone flop
Against a made flush you have 7 outs, against a set you have 11 outs, and against pretty much everything else you're in great shape. I think you have to call.
Though, as downtown said, I think for this exact reason you have to push the flop. He's pot committed, but I don't think you can be too scared to get your chips in here. The A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] is huge, as I'm sure you know. -SonnyJay |

push flop
I thought the problem was on a monotone flop WITHOUT you have the A of that suit. That's a lot harder of a situation but in most cases, you should be able to fold to a c/r |

push the flop, call the turn. if instead you didnt have the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] this would be tougher.
think about it, what did he call your PF raise w/ the flop a frush, QKs? i could see a pok pair w a club as just as likely. |

Re: $55 NL SNG...Aces vs. Monotone flop
The hand played out perfectly for you.
What is pushing the flop accomplishing? 1 - we are not folding this hand (assuming hero intended to at least call the flop raise) 2 - our hand comparitive to his cannot be worsened by the turn (in a fashion that would effect your flop decision) 3 - a hand that we are behind on the flop will be calling our push 4 - a hand that we have dominated could fold |

What is pushing the flop accomplishing? [/ QUOTE ] To me, the c/r is the villain telling me he would like to get all the money in on the flop, and that's fine with me. Lots of cards on the turn could kill our action, including 9 clubs and 2 aces, so let's just get it in right away, I say. |

To me, the c/r is the villain telling me he would like to get all the money in on the flop.... [/ QUOTE ] I think that's exactly right. Of course, the next question is WHY would villain want to get the money in if he doesn't have me beat? |
