3/6 KK on QQxx board - what\'s my turn play?
Villain is 20/6/1.7 I think he'd be capable of either having a JJ type hand OR having a Q. I could see him calling my raise w/ a hand like AQ.
What should be my turn play here? Check-fold to a reasonable bet? Bet 2/3 pot and fold to a raise? Bet and be prepared to get all-in? Check-call and fold to a big river bet? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $6 BB (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx CO ($664.10) Button ($615.45) SB ($594) Hero ($598.35) UTG ($552) UTG+1 ($580.90) MP1 ($697.40) MP2 ($720.75) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I usually would c/f to a big bet here or bet and hope to take it down depending on how frisky he's been with calling your continuation bets and misbehaving on the turn.

What is he calling here if you bet on the turn with that you beat? I'd check behind the turn and then Check/Call the river if its small.

I don't see anything wrong with check/folding.

[/ QUOTE ] I would appreciate it if people would stop saying that you shouldn't bet because nothing can call that you beat. What? Do you never bluff? I've seen people say this same exact thing dozens of times and it gets annoying...fast. Also, he can't check behind, hes OOP. And about the hand, like AllIn3High said, I would check/fold to many/most opponents and lead again into some types of opponents. |

[/ QUOTE ] Probabbly nothing, that's why I wrote "and hope to take it down", you don't have to have the best hand to bet, but a bet here will keep you from being bluffed out of the pot/face a tough decision. As I wrote, c/f should probably be the deafult. If you check you're basicly giving up the pot and turning your hand into a bluff-catcher. Just because we have a hand that has showdown value doesn't mean we shouldn't bluff or we should go to showdown. [ QUOTE ] I'd check behind the turn and then Check/Call the river if its small. [/ QUOTE ] Hero can't check behind as he's OOP. Atleast that's my thinking.. feel free to rip me apart. |
