Re: Peripheral companies to the casino industry?
[ QUOTE ]
strip clubs and, um, women of the night. [/ QUOTE ] The strip club industry in LV very unique, in that a huge portion of their labor pool is temporarily imported from other cities in the Southwest. This allows them to flex their labor pool to meet peak demands (conventions, weekends). If you want to meet a stripper in real life... try the Friday afternoon LAX to LAS flights. I think the next big real estate transformation is taking place right now, with a huge number of non-casino housing/hotel units being built within 1/2 mile of the strip. Should transform some of the industries previously the discussed (the suppliers, etc.) I'm skeptical about their potential for success, but their construction has already displaced a number of businesses. |

Re: Peripheral companies to the casino industry?
If you're looking for some non-obvious line to get into in a developing casino area here it is: light bulbs. Seriously.
If you're in a state where you can lock up supplying the liquor that would be even better but it will cost you at least a Mercedes up front to the buyer. |
