44 blind defense
Villain is 40/12 and nohting has stood out of him postflop.
Edit: 6-max Preflop: Hero is BB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero calls. Flop: (4.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls. Turn: (4.25 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG calls. River: (6.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero... Not sure if should check-call, bet-fold, or check-fold here. Also, the rest of the hand seem ok? |

Re: 44 blind defense
First of all, is there really a need to "defend" your blind from a UTG pfr?
2nd, I'd fold the flop because I don't want to put myself in any sticky situations when the pot is small. Reverse implied odds, no? |

Re: 44 blind defense
Check/Calling really sucks imo...If youre checking, you should be folding to a bet...
Personally I like bet/folding |

Re: 44 blind defense
6max?
10handed? something inbetween? edit: or I could just count the folds .. I'm lazy, so tell me next time um preflop is fine flop turn are fine river depends on how he plays Ahigh/Khigh if he always bets if you check, you are better served to check/call if he checks behind Ahigh, but will call with it, bet/fold if he checks behind Ahigh/Khigh, and doesn't call a river bet ... check/fold |

Re: 44 blind defense
If you check and he bets, what are your chances of calling and winning?
If you bet and he calls, how often are you winning? |

Re: 44 blind defense
At a 5 handed table, this should obviously be defense. Hell, it's defense at a 10 handed table. If you are in the BB, you're always "defending."
I think if you're not going to fold the flop, this is the way to play it. A postflop read is really necessary to know whether to bet or check. The question is if he'll bet A high here when checked to. If so, check and call. If he'll check it behind, but call if you bet, then betting is better. I'd probably default to betting. |

Re: 44 blind defense
I just meant that its not exactly a "steal" that you have to defend against when its coming from somebody more than 3 seats to your right; correct me if this is flawed thinking.

Re: 44 blind defense
That's true, but UTG at a 5 handed table still has an expanded range (in general) from a 10 handed UTG raise. Furthermore, that's a flop that's not all that likely to have hit him.
