Try reading the innumerable threads on this issue and you may come to understand. What I don't understand is why people are saying that allowing these three exemptions is just adding three people to the player pool and thereby reducing your EV since you now have to beat a bigger field. In fact, they added THREE OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD. This will clearly reduce everyone else's EV by much more than just adding three random people such that everyone has the same EV which is what the calculation in this OP and every other one I have seen has done. WTF?
