Maddox is a bum. Anyone else think the Steelers would be better off with Antwaan Randle El in there?

Since they pass at most 25 times a game, why not run the option?

I was actually going to make this thread. I agree. Tommy Maddox is clearly rattled and no longer effective. Randle El is the best option (no pun intended) available. I say put him in there, he can hand off as well as Maddox I would think and adds the running qb element to the mediocre passing skills that both have.

Damn, I didn't even think of the FF implications. Teams with Randle el could start an extra QB.

I just saw that highlight, holy crap, that was a damn good throw.
Also, did Batch hurry up that QB sneak on his own with essentially zero time left, and then made it, breaking his hand in the process? that is so hardcore. |

I think they should sign Slash and bring back the good ol' days.

They said on local tv that Batch hurt his hand on the Ward pass where he set the all time Steeler receptions record. Something about hitting his pinky on a helmet.

I pretty much hate Tommy at this point, but he's still probably the best choice. Ideally Parker will be back next week (anyone heard an injury report on his ankle?), and Cowher will just keep it on the ground except for some short yardage/screen passes (or long bombs by Randle El). It gets more complicated if Parker is still gone since we won't have a long yardage threat and they're probably not going to let Maddox go deep very much or at all.
Here's to hoping ben gets well soon. J |
