Pros Inducing a Call with Taunting

Ive heard that saying anything to an opponent to get them a little bit interested in your hand can cause them to call. Maybe Tex aggitated Andy Black a bit with his kind of taunting and caused him to go all in with his KJ. Maybe this is why matusow and hellmuth do this stuff at the table.

Maybe this isn't a new idea...?

I don't think Tex wanted to play a big pot given the tourney situation. Black was taking advantage of the bubble situation, and it didn't work out for him.

Tex certainly didn't want a call there, he had to think Andy had overcards. He was pretty much telling Andy your coinflip at best, do you really want to push this?

Honestly I wonder if Matasow's ribbing had more with Andy making a poor play. Andy certainly seemed a little chip drunk were you could coax him a bit.

no its not. but, the tex and andy hand seemed an illustration of a guy making a play because the other guy got him a bit rattled

if anyone induced anything, i think Matusow induced Black's all-in raise by chiding Black by taunting him (e.g. "we all know you're not going to call", "just do something already").
