Pocket AA on a KQJr board ... Help me find the right line.
Hero has $260 on the button.
Vill has $220 in middle position. 2/4 $400 NL Villan is 40/9 with 100 hands... I've played tight, I've trippled my $40 buyin and then doubled it again. I've shown down QQ and KJo from the BB. Preflop: One limper Villan raises to $20 Hero re-raises with AA to $70 limper folds. Villan calls. Flop: KQJrainbow. Villan checks. My first reaction was to just all in continuation bet. I have a flop aggression of about 5!!! I have been trying to cut that down to a reasonable number. Should I ram it all into a dangerous board? I think ... What kind of hand does he have that would raise and then call my $70 re-raise? Checking is consistent with a set. KQ, QJ, JK just made 2 pair... 99, TT, AK, or AQ I can beat. I decided he was most likely to have KK, QQ, JJ or AK and just called hopeing for one of my A or a T. Turn was a 6 Villan went all in. What's your move? |

I usually c/f. Your ahead of nothing but a bluff and medium PP. Also, reload.

Check flop OK IMO, with a potbet left in the stack you can push.
Fold on the turn. |

Re: Pocket AA on a KQJr board ... Help me find the right line.
Thanks for the replies,
One of the many weak parts of my game is letting go of good starting hands. I especially have trouble letting go of AA. This may be due to playing too much limit poker where you almost never fold to one bet on the river ... |

Asides from calling the turn all in, I think you played your hand correctly.
