A more proactive approach to global warming
Global warming is caused by greenhouse gasses trapping UV radiation. The biggest problem, as I understand it, is CO2.
As it stands now I do not see humanity being able to cut down on its emissions soon enough to stop/slowdown global warming. Trees are able to turn carbon dioxide into oxygen using light and water. People are smart, why can't we create some sort of massive solar based chemical reaction device to recycle the CO2 back into O2? Can anybody think of a proactive approach to this problem? |

I think they're called plants.

Re: A more proactive approach to global warming
The process requires an energy input. Plants use solar radiation. In order to be useful the device would need to use energy that doesn't produce CO2 as a by-product.
edit: Since plants thrive in a CO2-rich environment, I would guess that an equilibrium will be reached eventually, but not necessarily before alot of species, including us, are pretty much wiped out. |
