Default How do you play this set?

1-2 NL 6-Max

Been at table for a few orbits. No real reads.

Im dealt 66 in the small blind. Villian in MP raises to 9. I call, big blind calls.

Flop: 7d 3s 6s

I check, big blind bets 7, Villian raises 21, whats my plan for the rest of the hand.

I have 175 left and cover.

Should I just cold call the raise or raise myself?

probably going against an overpair from the MP.. i would either reraise here, or c-r on the turn.

either way i think you'll get rid of the BB this way.

Lead the flop.

Since you didn't do that ask yourself this:

Will PFR get it all in with an overpair on the flop?
If the answer is yes, go ahead and stick it in now.

If PFR is more likely to pay off an overpair by getting a little in at a time, then checkraise 2/3 to 3/4 the pot and get the rest in on the turn.

I've noticed the "payment plan" often works well in SSNL. There are a lot of cards you don't want to see on the turn, so getting it in on the flop isn't a mistake.
