[ QUOTE ]
If one has read the "Repulic" or "Gorgias" and some other works one obviously knows that Socrates was against all excessive sexual behaviour, and even rejected physical contact! Men should love each other like a father loves his son was his conclusion. Plato goes into more detail about the unnaturalness and despicability of homosexuality in his LAWS. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, but I don't abide by Socrates' LAWS. Excessive sex is too much fun; convince me how it is in any way immoral. |

It will inevitably come down to this. Two radically different mindsets cannot co-exist in peace. But honestly, you think the wrists of your team will be able to handle the recoil of the 44 magnum?

That was the same Athenien society that forced Socrates to drink the poison.

[/ QUOTE ] If she is unable to have offspring, then where the hell did you come from? [/ QUOTE ] Don't be an idiot. He was responding to the other poster, who was talking about the reproducing status of homosexuals today (in the present). His grandmother also cannot reproduce today (in the present). Therefore, his grandmother is just as "detrimental" to society as homosexuals. But since his grandmother isn't actually detrimental, neither are homosexuals. The point is that the other poster (Peter666 I think) had some seriously flawed logic. Kind of like yours. |

Homosexuals ... inability to produce offspring is detrimental to the human race. [/ QUOTE ] Umm... homosexuals can produce offspring... and they do. The difference is that they really have to want to do it, and plan for it. Not such a bad thing, really. I guess you can argue that it's better for people to have unwanted pregnancies... but that's a tough argument to make. |
