Re: Overs
You need to raise and bet. You do this do buy information about your opponent's hand
If he just call your preflop raise, you can put him on some kind of drawing hand that he doesn't want to get to aggressive with at this stage. Or perhaps better, you can exclude hands he likely not have, such as high pairs, or high suited aces. Also by raising in his eyes, you are infact representing such a hand. By betting pre flop (or maybe check raise) you are representing either a hand that you completed with the help of the flop, or didn't need the flop to remain best hand. This put the pressure on him to actuyally have a pretty strong holdingt to call you down. If he raises you, you're beat, if he calls (which most bad players will do even though they shouldn't), you have to slow down and maybe even let go of the hand. Point is being aggressive initially, will save you bets later in the hand when you don't improve, which likely will be cheaper in the long run over many similar cases. /T |

Re: Overs
I agree with everyone else that you should raise preflop, and bet the flop. As you played it though, this is a fold. The pot is too small. You don't have any backdoor draw. Your opponent is passive.
