I have about a 200MB file (PT_Database) that I want to send via the internet to another person. How can I go about doing this? I dont mind paying a fee. I want fairly fast download speeds.

If you both have AIM or MSN you can transfer a file that way. It will be as fast as you or your friends slowest connection.

Use Winzip to reduce the file size first. Access databases often zip to under 20% of their original size. Upload it to http://www.yousendit.com/ , from where a link will be sent to your friend to download it anytime in the nexy 7 days.

are there any super-fast upload transfer sites (paying a fee is fine) [/ QUOTE ] Depending on your connection, you are probably the one limiting the upload. Generally on a home connection, your upstream is much slower than your downstream. For an average home cable connection, you can't upload at more than 40Kbps. You usually have a higher upstream with dsl lines, where it's not uncommon to get a 512/512 line for a decent monthly rate. So you're basically SOL. If you have a job, you could try uploading the file from there, because they'll hopefully have a good connection... libraries maybe, a random internet cafe, etc. |

If transferring time is an issue, why not just burn it on a cd and mail it?

Hi kane,
The best solution for transferring the files is to follow the "don't put all your eggs in one basket" Split them using quickpar, send, rejoin with hjjoin. It's all pretty simple. http://www.quickpar.org.uk/CreatingPAR2Files.htm http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/#hjjoin |

If you both have Skype, you can transfer files of any size for free. It works like a charm. Skype is a free download with the added benefit of free (if you both have the software) or really cheap internet calls worldwide.
