Default 89s BB

1st hand at the table. I contemplated a turn c/r.
meh?

I don't love my river play either.

What does he bet on the flop and call on the turn that doesn't have you beat on the river? K8? 2x? Both would be pretty rare I’d think. I'd C/C the turn and fold the river UI. I don't think the 9 helped you enough here. If I took your line, I would still c/f the river. You're not good 1-7 times here in my judgment.

I think it made things worse. A queen is not that nice anymore.

I would check/call the turn and check/fold the river.

I agree c/f on river is best. you guys are probably right on the turn, but I'm letting it roll around in my head a little bit. An unknown open from MP at 5/10 is a somewhat wide range...

The turn is interesting. He has the odds to call you bet with AK, AQ, KQ, KT, QT. Only hands that you beat would he fold. So I check call the turn and re-evaluate on the river.

BTW, the button probably hit on the flop. In general, I don't like trying to get hands that improved on the flop to fold.
