Re: Great Play or Mistake?
[ QUOTE ]
Fourth hand of the tournament their is absolutely no reason to be raising 88 UTG...prob not even worth playing IMO. Nothing wrong with post flop play. Personally I dont like to slow play...it always costs me money, but I got all his chips in the middle as a huge favorite, can you ask for anything better? [/ QUOTE ] He didnt tell us what the stacks were...but I have no problem with this...Implied odds could be huge here. |

Re: Great Play or Mistake?
The stacks were about even. It was a the opening minutes of 60 player tournament. I think its just "Fancy Play Syndrome". I think you are bound to get snapped off if you play every hand like this in a MTT. I think its results oriented thinking to expect "Player A" to push everytime with 4 outs.

Re: Great Play or Mistake?
Fold preflop. Fold the flop.
I agree with limp preflop. But if he thought his opponent would bet the flop, there is absolutely nothing wrong with checking. I typically just always bet here because I would bet with AK here too, but he got his opponent to commit his stack with a gutshot vs a set. That's a dream situation for your friend. |
