Default VERY general Preflop situation question (basic?)

UTG+1 (TAG) makes it 40 in a typical stars 5-10 game. Folded to you in the BB with 10 8 suited. $30 more to call. your action? What if it was 6 7 suited?
I usually call here - but i feel like OOP i may be wasting money against a fairly tight hand range. I know there are plenty of preflop styles but mathamatically something has to be correct here - assume i play well post flop and get the right value if i hit a hand.

Both are easy folds.

I think if he's really tight, it makes it a much easier call than if he's really loose. At least that way you know he's got a very good hand and you have a chance of winning a big pot from him.

Even still, I usually fold this OOP.

if 2 or more others in the pot then i think about calling if everyone has a resonable stack(~50+ BB), otherwise fold. your're really looking for implied odds for straight/flushes here.

then how about 6 max? I usually fold the latter but often fall under the temptations of suited connectors with hands like T8s even though I know it'll suck playing it HU oop.
