Default anyone have problems with gambler\'s book shop?

just placed an order with them. they sent me a copy of the little green book of hold 'em instead of the little book of poker, and sent me a chewed-up copy of poker at the millennium. naturally, they'll be hearing from me.

is this sort of thing standard from these guys?

Yes, I've had problems with Gambler's Book Shop. Some time ago I ordered Roy Cooke's first book from them, and was sent his second book, which I already had. They invited me to return the book at my own expense, which was not what I was looking for.

depending on if you can find it there, go with conjelco.com for books. Chuck's service is first-rate.

yeah, i only placed this order because i couldn't find most of these books anywhere else. (does anyone know of a reputable online store that carries cappelletti's books, for example?)

i'm still waiting on their customer service to respond to my email, though i suspect their "solution" will be for me to send the books back on my dime. oh well...

I had the same problem when orderering Poker At the Millenium from Gambler's Book Shop--copy looked like an in-store reject--definitely don't plan on ordering from them again. Conjelco has much better service and packaging (unfortunately, Conjelco didn't have this book listed when it first came out otherwise I would have ordered from them).
