Why I\'m So Obsessed With This Hand.....
My most frustrating errors in poker are those that cost me a pot. These are usually errors of under-aggressiveness; whether missing a bet or a raise that results in the loss of what was otherwise a winnable pot.
Only Kevin suggested playing my hand differently preflop, but I didn't ask about that, even though that may be a very worthwhile discussion. I'm obviously still not convinced that I should have played the turn in another manner(discounting the results and complete information about the hand) though I am looking for a more convincing(to me) argument--if there is one. Maybe I'm playing weaker than I think or have in the past. This is certainly not a very common situation and so shouldn't, I suppose, be an overall indicator of my skill level. Still, I wouldn't be making my living at this game, if not for such relentlessness(atleast during my first several years learning--time to remedy that), and so I do appreciate all of the discussion. Thanks all, Mike |

Re: RESULTS
[ QUOTE ]
"PFR shows his SET OF 3's!!!(" That's what I put him on while reading your initial post, and that's what I would have put him on at the casino. I don't think he would have checked a straight or a set or two pair or an overpair on the flop, so there's nothing else he raise with on the turn but three threes. Tommy [/ QUOTE ] tommy angelo, super genius im gonna have to watch for you at AJ's, it would be cool to see you play |

Well, I certainly don't see how you can reasonably read the guy for 33! (and I think you're one of the best card readers I've played with) i cant either. some people can guess better than others though |

WHY?
"I don't think he would have checked a straight or a set or two pair or an overpair on the flop"
Based on what, Tommy? Do you know this player? I didn't think that I described him that well. |
