Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The Astros just had their most successful season ever and he's criticizing their scouting department. Fantastic. [/ QUOTE ] I did find it surprising that they didnt have 1 black person on their roster. Am I the only one that didnt know this??? [/ QUOTE ] I hadn't heard it reported before this. It's definitely extraordinary. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe unusual, but extraordinary? I think there are like 3 black pitchers in the entire major leagues (Willis the best known.) So that wipes out almost half the roster right there. I'm a Braves fan, and I can only think of 2 black players they had on their roster this year. What's the average, 2-3 per team? |

Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
Brian Jordan was the only African American, unless I'm missing somebody.

[ QUOTE ] I think there are like 3 black pitchers in the entire major leagues [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Once again, we're limiting this to African Americans. There's Ray King, Tom Gordon, Dewon Brazelton, Dontrelle Willis... am I really missing all that many? There can't be much more than 10, if there's even 10. |

Re: Hank Aaron Being His Usual Racist Self
[ QUOTE ]
A Seattle Times analysis of active rosters, including players on disabled lists, showed that 8.9 percent (79 of 888 players) were African-American as of august 28, 2005. link [/ QUOTE ] And only 5 starting pitchers. |
