3 Handed $200 NL facing river overbet push
Late night Party $200 NL, table has broken down to just 3 of us. Anyways, Villain sits down for $200 about 15 minutes earlier and lost a buyin when his aces were outflopped by queens. He appears to be on tilt. He's raising every button, sometimes the minimum, sometimes $11 to go. He's trying to run the table over. He's got about $250 and I cover.
I raise on the button to $8 with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Villain in small blind calls, BB folds. Flop ($18): A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain checks, I bet $10, he calls. Turn ($37): 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain checks, I check behind trying to induce a bet into me on the river. River ($37): Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain pushes for $232, how fast do I call this? |

you mean how fast do you fold this? Unless he's the type to bluff like this, easy, easy fold.

Re: 3 Handed $200 NL facing river overbet push
This is an easy fold. If he pulled a fast one on you, then hats off to him. I just dont see someone doing this since the risk vs. reward is so bad. If he really does have a monster, then he overbet it way to much. Either way, this guy should go in your notes.

[ QUOTE ]
Turn ($37): 7 Villain checks, I check behind trying to induce a bet into me on the river. [/ QUOTE ] Why wouldn't you bet $10 again to induce a check raise? Would you want to get it all in against this opponent? The villian could be on QQ but doesn't feel right given no bullying preflop. AQ he would also probably reraise in a 3 handed situation. So I would call... and probably get stacked by a set of 4's. Guin |

Re: 3 Handed $200 NL facing river overbet push
You checked behind on the turn in order to induce a river bet and you got it. He is tilting. I would call if you know that he would have raised AQ or a set of fours on the flop, or bet out on the turn. Otherwise, you have to fold.
His overbet is ridiculous, and you have to fold unless you have a good read. So, you erroneously thought you had a good read and you called and she showed you 44, right? There's a lot he could have that could beat you. If he would call with a marginal hand pre-flop like 56, he beats you. He could have AQ, QQ, 44, 77, 88, AA. Then again, he could have Q7, A4, or A7. But with a bet of 232 into a pot of 38, this has to be an insta-fold. |
