Alternative to Ipod nano
I've heard lots of complaints about the Ipod nano. What are the best alternatives with similar capacity/price?

My nano is fine. And I don't treat it gently.

Re: Alternative to Ipod nano
The issue I take with the Nano is that you really need to have a need for it's specific qualities for it to make sense to get it rather than something with much larger storage for like 50 bucks more.
The nano is really cute, but it's not like your regular ipod is so large that it's an issue for most people, and 4 gigs of storage ends up being pretty limiting. |

What about Sandisk?
I have their older mp3 player and love it. The fact that it plays .wma files is a big plus (higher quality/byte) and they also have an FM tuner. The one major downside is that they aren't rechargable so you have to keep buying batteries for it... I suppose it also might not work w/ online music subscription services? |

[/ QUOTE ] I was looking for small ones and it was pretty much Samsung or iPod for non-subscription ones. Samsung 1g option iRiver seemed to be the best option if you wanted a small player with subscription music support. |

Re: Alternative to Ipod nano
I'd say just wait a few months. There will be better iRivers, Cowons, and other products with the same capacity and similar size. Apple's goal was to be first to the market with a full featured TINY flash player with decent capacity. They did that, and [censored] is breaking like crazy.
They already have a lawsuit against them (for scratches or some stupid [censored]). But they've been taking back a lot of replacements for broken screens and such. |
