Chronic Overbetting
Lately I've run into several players who seem infatuated with overbetting pots - like 4 limpers....$1.50 pot...guy bets $3 on the flop.
I don't know what to make of this. Most often this seems done by the 35/10/5 PT stats players so it could mean anything. I cant seem to get any reads cuz it takes down the pot most times so cards arent shown Example from last night - 4 limpers and I limp on the button with KdQd Flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Chronic overbettor leads out for $3...folded to me...I do what? Thoughts on these kind of players? |

Re: Chronic Overbetting
call...see what he does on the turn.
These guys are typically overbetting because they want a fold. |

Re: Chronic Overbetting
Is he overbetting pot on turn too? If so I would decide if my hand is best now and re-raise or fold. I would probably wait until he shows down a hand to see what you are dealing with before I start makeing re-raises though. It depends on how chronic the overbetting is.

Re: Chronic Overbetting
i see this a lot with TPNK trying to take the pot uncontesed.
i call flop, and probably call a reasonable bet on the turn... |

[/ QUOTE ] Why would you limp here with such a strong hand? Raise pf and you will have a much better idea what to do, and more likely won't be faced with the overbet. |
