Default Indiana WSOP Info

*Cross-posted in Multi-Table*

I got to the event today and wasn't at all shocked at what happened, as I've been around Caesars Indiana long enough to know how they run things. I had wired my $340 last week and was told my spot was reserved. I actually called 3x verifying that everything was okay and that all I needed to do was pick up my seat card.

So, I'm standing in line waiting to get this, when I hear someone say they wired money and they are an alternate, and I'm like wtf, I signed up when there was only 400 or so signed up. When I get to the cashiers cage, sure enough, I'm alternate #359, and all management could tell me was sorry, there has been some misinformation on the phone, you had to bring your drivers license in person. Apparently noone was told this and everyone was highly pissed off. Some decided to get their money back. I decided to just wait it out and see what the blinds were. Well when I get in blinds were already 100-200 and I had 1500 chips, but I was about 55% avg, and I was whatever, I drove an hour, I'll play. I was out quick.

But anyway, for anyone else playing other events, the next 3 days are already sold out from what I was told, but they are taking alternates. I went ahead and signed up for every no limit event, I better have a seat this time.

The next 3 days events should all have between 700-1000 players.

You have to wonder exactly how complicated can it be to run something like this smoothly!?!? I feel bad for you, Matt, and everyone else who likely experienced this debacle. Unreal...

Can you give us more details...how does the alternate system work? Besides the disaster with the entries, was it mass chaos otherwise or run ok?

Good luck the rest of the week Matt and others!

Whenever someone gets knocked out, an alternate fills the seat. It seemd to be ran alright. I didnt like that you couldnt stay at your tables during breaks, you had to get up away from the tables, that annoyed me.

i had the same problem and ended up being alternate number 200 after waking up ass early to get registered for it. Then I sat with 50/100 and was busted by the 6 hand when AKs didn't work out twice in a row.

I left about 3 or 4 and did not see a cash game being spread in the casino. Maybe I missed it?

I didn't get there until 6:30 PM and the cash games were jamming! I got a seat at about 8 PM.

Thanks. I figured that. That's a major shortcoming of smaller rooms. Tournaments use up all their resources and they can't spread side games, while a popular tournament is in progress. Earlier this year at Grand in Tunica, they were running tournaments of over two hundred players, and at the same time were spreading a pot limit game, 30/60, 20/40 and 10/20 cash games. No they are running lots of cash games and anyone that refers to Caesar's IN new room as small, clearly has never been there. They have about 70 tables set up for tourneys and cash games.

that's good to hear, I was worried the tourneys would be full enough till about 8 and then with the wait list itd be impossible to get in.. I was planning on going in saturday night to try to get in on that new 1/2 NL game. I could smell it acroos the room. Now I guess I can.

The new room is one of the nicests nonVegas rooms I have seen.
