Laptop suggestions for 4-tabling?
Cross posted from Computer Technical Help:
Anyone have any recommendations for a laptop capable of 4-tabling (1200x1600 res I guess)? Good batterly life and good wireless card a must, and I don't want to spend alot more than 2k. Also on an aside, does anyone have experience 4-tabling using a monitor with less resolution? I have heard of some program available that makes it easier somehow (active tables pop up better or something). Any help much appreciated! -Zach |

Re: Laptop suggestions for 4-tabling?
I just ordered a Dell Inspirion 6000 with WUXGA for $884. I'm sure others who are even more coupon-savvy than I am have done better too.

Dell 9300 is the nuts at 1920 x 1200. I'm using one right now. Cost me $1350 in all (make sure to get WUXGA instead of just WXGA). You can probably get one for a couple hundred less if you wait for a deal.

Re: Laptop suggestions for 4-tabling?
Ignorant newbie question alert: Let's say you buy a laptop that has a screen with 1600x1200 or better resolution... what does it take to add a second external 21" monitor so I can 8-table? Is it tough?

That worked pretty well, though it had problems with overheating (A Google search showed that you need to blow out the back with compressed air to clean the heat sink) and after 2 years, it died, possibly due to the mother board. I wasn't able to run more than 2 Absolute or Cryptologic tables at a time without the system slowing down and crashing, but I could handle 4 tables from most sites. |

I've tried that and all I get is 2 screens with the exact same windows.
How can I get different tables on the second monitor? |

Re: Laptop suggestions for 4-tabling?
Go into display properties (right click on your desktop then properties) then on settings click 'Extend my windows desktop to this monitor' on monitor 2.
