Default Las Vegas Casino Blackjack question....

Which casino has the best overall options for the player these days?

I moved here recently and want other opinions...

I am looking for the best 1 & 2 deck games in town...

Seeing way too many 6 to 5 BJ payout Single Deck games.

TIA!

Go downtown. LVC, Golden Gate, El Cortez (be careful out there!), Lady Luck, Horseshoe all have SD games.

Hi Trillig,
When I lived out there and did some 21 dealing... Slots O Fun was reputed to deal out a game with rules slightly favorable to the basic strategy player. The evidence of this was supposed to be the fact that they may you deal it "pay and pick" style so as to minimize the amount of time a player had to count cards.

Never did the math so I don't know how true that is. I do know that the dealing procedure messed you up for a time when dealing at other casinos with more normal procedures.

Sincerely,
AA

last I checked SlotsOfun got rid of the single deck with favorable rules. Check out http://www.skister.com/bj/ it lists BJ conditions and info. some info is dated and not as detailed as the subscription newsletters but it is free.

Good counters can't be beat, they can see cards in a flash and keep a 99.9% accurate count. All that method will do is piss off some slower players that think you might have made a mistake and were covering it up. It might defeat poor counters, but those guys usually defeat themselves. Another silly casino policy that is supposed to do one thing and ends up just upsetting people without accomplishing much.

Yes, that place has (or at least had when I was there) a slightly +EV SD BJ game. The problem is the place is a dive and also they really sweat card counters. So, I'd just as soon go downtown and count a SD game at a nicer casino that doesn't sweat counters as much.

Hi WildBill,
I wasn't defending that method! Just pointing it out.

:-)

Who doesn't sweat counters anymore??? About the only games you can get fair rules and no heat are 6 deckers, 2 deckers even are going with Reno rules these days, the 1 deck games are mostly that 6/5 crap or "SUPER FUN" BS. Amazing how much money the casinos make now and how popular gaming has become, yet they still are out to sink the handful of people that can beat them, pissing off some sucker players in the process.

True, but it's all relative. In my low-roller card counting experience (red chip player w/ admittedly not too much experience) they sweat counters more at slots o' fun than at the downtown joints.

Yeah, on the strip at least. Hopefully downtown hasn't caught wind of that rule yet (I haven't been in Vegas since January, so maybe they already have).

I've heard that they would actually make more money if they offered games with deeper penetration. Sure, card counters would make more money, but these players are few and far between. The increased loss to these players would be more than compensated for by the fact that they wouldn't have to shuffle as often, so they'd be able to deal more hands per hour to the non-advantage players.
