Default Overplayed turn?

Hero: (9c9d) $7.49 in BB
Villian: $33.52 on Button

Villian limps with one other player in MP. I raise to $1 (5x bb) and both call.

Flop: Ac 2h 5c ($3.00)
- Hero bets $1.50 and gets called from Villian.

Turn: Qs (approx $6.00)
-Hero has $4.99 left and moves in
-Villian calls

Loose passive table with Villian bieng Loose aggressive. Saw him call a similiar raise from SB a few hands earlier with T2s and move in with top pair/bad kicker only to lose. So my thinking is that his call on from does not indicate an Ace more likely second pair or draw. After thinking about for a minute I move in my last chips knowing that if he has an Ace he will call. I thought if I checked the turn he would almost certainly try to steal and I wouldnt be able to call. Any suggestions? Thanks

Mike

sorry couldnt convert hand

When you're shortstacked, raise enough preflop to set up a flop push.

was this 6max or full ring?
I personally dont like raising with 1010> out of the blinds in full ring. If it's 6max i think your line is fine with your read on villain, hopefully he had K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]X [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and missed

I don't like to raise lower pairs for this exact reason. You get a bad board and feel obligated to make a continuation bet on the flop. If you can NOT make that bet when the board looks bad for you, then raising is okay.

I think it's a check/fold on the turn. He's called, which means your hand isn't going to be good most of the time here. I like to play these pairs for set value in full ring, and don't go overly nuts with them in 6max. I think you can find better spots to push in.

35x BB raise preflop? Stack was still small but the blinds were .10/.20. I agree I normally do not raise with these types of hands without position because of the numerous calls you get. The villian had A4os and called the turn bet.

The whole point of playing the short stack is setting is getting people to call you when you have a significant advantage....you didn't play it that way. If you insist on sitting way short like this, you need to raise more preflop so that you can push the flop, or just open push outright preflop. You'd be surprised how many calls you get.
