My personal stat: is it good?, what should be adjusted?
I have mainly played in 0.5/1 small stakes games
Heres my poker tracker stats Code:

Game $0.50/$1 Total hands 4,492 Vol. put$in pot 25.60 Vol. put$from SB 48.24 Folded SB to steal 62.50 Folded BB to steal 36.36 Att. To steal Blinds 21.50 Won $ WSF% 26.83 Amount won $325.45 BB/100 hands 7.25 Went to SD% 36.41 Won $ at SD% 49.63 PF raise% 6.52 Total rake 174.80

Is there any 'you_should_have_similar_to_this_stat' to have the best of it? I mainly use the playing style presented in the book Small stakes hold'em - Winning big with expert play I adjust by whos entering the pot and how many |

Read the FAQ in the Microlimits forum. It has a link to a stats post for you to compare against.

Re: My personal stat: is it good?, what should be adjusted?
I'm sure others will say this, but...
Sample size is pretty small (i.e. < 10k) and this post probably belongs in the Microlimits forum. Of course, after you have a larger sample and read the Microlimits FAQ. Some stats converge quickly (i.e. VPIP) whereas some do not. |

Re: My personal stat: is it good?, what should be adjusted?
thx for the reply, I thought this forum was 0.5/1, but now I know better.
I have read the FAQ and compared the stats. One thing I am concerned about is Win-rate from the faq. [ QUOTE ] Win-rate: The number everyone is concerned about and the number we can do nothing about. Be happy with anything above 0 BB / 100 hands. The measure used is big bets per 100 hands. This accounts for multi-tabling and limit differences whereas $/hr gives you no real indication of success. Don't fret with something below 0 BB/100 if you have a small sample size. Variance and downswings happen and they can be quite large (200+ BB losses) and extend over a long period of time (10K+ hands). Your winrate will decrease as you move up in limits. Since its asked all the time, a 3 BB/100 winrate at .50/1.00 (online) is often regarded as great. 6 BB/100 is probably unsustainable. Once you reach 2/4 (online), 2 BB/100 is great for the long term and 4 BB/100 may be unsustainable. Also, you will be a loser from the blinds. The blind commitment is too great to overcome by solid play. [/ QUOTE ] Mine is at 7.25 What does this mean, unsustainable? Is it bad? [ QUOTE ] a 3 BB/100 winrate at .50/1.00 (online) is often regarded as great. 6 BB/100 is probably unsustainable [/ QUOTE ] |

Mine is at 7.25 What does this mean, unsustainable? Is it bad? [/ QUOTE ] No, it probably means you're on a good run of cards. Obviously, the FAQ is trying to be as general as possible to reach the widest audience. However, your mileage may vary with table selection, skill, etc. For instance, you may be able to win at 5 BB/100 at 0.50-1.00 if you choose the juicest tables. But 3 or 4 BB/100 is a good winrate. (I suppose anything above 0 is good for a beginner, actually.) You'll eventually come crashing down and go on an extended losing streak, assuming you play the game long enough...and you'll "win" at a rate of -3 BB/100 over 10k hands. This happens to good and bad players alike. This is what happens in games of chance. Winrate will vary over the short-term but converge over the long-term. The only thing you can do is give mana to the Poker Gods. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] |

Mine is at 7.25 What does this mean, unsustainable? Is it bad? [/ QUOTE ] It means you haven't played enough hands to know what your win rate is. When you do play enough, it won't stay at 7. Enjoy the profits while they are coming. Don't fret when you begin losing a bit more frequently, because you are just settling into a more normal state. |
