10/20 Top set, capped turn.
6 handed.
CO (29/10/1.6 over 90 hands. Not remarkable for anything so far) opens. Button with the same stats coldcalls, SB (81/36/1.4 and totally awesome) calls. I raise A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Everyone calls 4 to the flop for 12 SB. Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet, the CO calls, the SB calls. 3 to the turn for 7.5 BB. 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet, CO raises, SB folds, I 3-bet, he thinks almost down to the end of the timer and caps. I call. 2 to the river for 15.5 BB. 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Bet/call, check/call or check/raise? Final board is 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Re: 10/20 Top set, capped turn.
I bet call here. I dont think he is going to raise you on this river without the straight.
Check call is too weak. It allows the villian to take a free showdown/ value bet at will. I dont like a check raise for the same reasons stated above. |

Re: 10/20 Top set, capped turn.
I bet/call. check/call is to weak. It would suck to c/r and villian makes it three.

Re: 10/20 Top set, capped turn.
interestingly checkraising is better than bet/calling here.
bet/calling gains you 1 bet when ahead but loses 2 when behind. checkraising gains 2 bets when ahead and loses 3 when behind. i like checkcalling bc the long wait is a fairly recognizable tell. |

Re: 10/20 Top set, capped turn.
The only things I could possibly see him capping on this turn are JT, 77, 88, 99, and -maybe- AKc. How many of those do we beat? How many of those raise the river, and how many check through the river?
