How often do you check the flop here?

Re: slowplaying ace high
Why not just bet the flop? I think this play looks super suspect and any piece is going to showdown. Sure the SB's passive and he's not going to play back but him being passive also means he's probably betting the turn with a showdown bound hand.

Re: slowplaying ace high
nay
the board has draws. you probably have the best hand. if no one has a draw or a K they might be willing to dump their 6 or 3. |

Re: slowplaying ace high
often when I am running bad I can't tell if I'm overdoing it with continuation bets. But when I see a flop like that I bet confidently, knowing for certain that a bet on that flop is +EV. I really think you gotta bet that.

How often do you check the flop here? [/ QUOTE ] rarely ever. something just didnt feel right on this flop. maybe i was going to get checkraise bluffed i dont know. i didnt think anyone would fold to my flop bet and i would have trouble bringing ace high to the showdown if the board doesnt pair on the turn. once it does and the SB bets and the BB folds, i think my hand is very often good. a better ace might also fold to a raise, but im not sure if its worth it for me to make the raise because folding out a 6outter when he will follow through bluffing on the river is -ev. also, the possibility of getting 3 bet when i have a 3 outter or the possibility that villain donkbets the river also make me think calling down might be more appropriate. there are also times when a better ace calls my turn raise, but will check to me on the river saving me a BB. any thoughts on this? |

i didnt think anyone would fold to my flop bet [/ QUOTE ] If someone has 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], he's folding to your flop bet. There are lots of hands containing two unpaired cards between 6 and K, and they can't call unless they're suited in diamonds. You give them a free card and if they make second pair on the turn, they are probably taking it to a showdown. If they miss the turn, they check-fold. Giving a free card in that situation is no good. |
