starting out
So I'm trying to learn no limit and definitely could use some help. Here's one hand from a passive party $50 game.
I have Q7o in the BB and check after 3 limpers. The flop is J 7 3r. I check and it's checked around. Should I bet 2nd pair here? Turn is a 4 putting a two flush on board. I bet pot and get one caller. Should I bet 2nd pair here? River is a rag and I check and call $2 (~1/3 pot). Also, preflop what should I generally be doing with hands like 88 UTG? On the button after 2 limpers? What about AJo? Thanks for any help. |

Re: starting out
check-fold turn, no use getting involved in s hitty marginal spots like this
full-ring limp 88 UTG, fold AJo (unless table conditions, such as craaaazy maniacs dictate an ok limp/raise) 6-max raise 88 and AJo |

Re: starting out
I'd only bet 2 pair or better, otherwise just check/fold. You're freerolling anyway, and it's hard to bluff this many opponents.
I tried raising with 88 to build the pot full-handed UTG, but it's a dumb idea, just call and try to get in cheaply. AJo is an easy fold UTG full-handed, too much potential to be dominated. |

Re: starting out
Hand played just like I would play it, and I'm pretty sure I show a profit in these type of situations, and at least build some action for later.
