Default sell a share DURING a tournement

During the last WSOP - main even , after the 1st day ( the 3 waves ) , I had 60 000T$ , since 65% of the field was out , the avg. was like 30 000T$ . What would be the correct price per 1% ( if we assume that I am an avg. player compare to the field , which is wrong , but anyway ) . & how U make that calculation ?

ty for any help .

this is not known. there are a couple of methods to estimate equity mid-tournament (chip count method, icm) but there's no universally accepted answer.

why does anyone sell anything?

i mean, if you can sell shares of yourself for more money than you think you are worth, then its +EV

This reminds me of the time I had an open-ended straight flush draw at Let It Ride. "Wow, I have about $3,000 of EV right now," I thought to myself, just as the last card blanked.

well the point is you sell it for more than you're worth (or equal value, and it eliminates some variance) so you're either making money, or making your money more consistent.

--------

if i were to sell shares during a tournament, i'd decide what i thought my EV (in terms of ROI) was to start the tournament... then figure out what your chips are worth as a % of the prizepool .. then i'd multiply by the ROI..

don't feel like seeing if that gives a normal number or one way off, but i'd try and do something like that.

it doesn't always give something reasonable. if you have 99% of the chips and ROI 0% (i.e. breakeven), then you would demand 99% of the prize pool, or much more than 1st place $.
