also to play on the 10/20 game you should need about a 40k bankroll. you can even multitable 6 tables with this bankroll and it would be fine assuming you have a fair edge (over 4bb/100) on the game.

Based on my play with OP, it is highly unlikely that he is a winning player in the 10/20 on Stars. With good game selection, being a small winner at 5/10 isn't out of the question.

Just my two cents...

PS If I remember the hand in question with TheJoker, not only did all the money go in on the turn, but I think that there was at least one raise postflop as well. But, I might be mistaken...

I wasn't trying to discourage you nor was I trying to imply that you were hopeless. I was trying to provide an honest assessment of your skill, as someone with whom you have played (albeit, not very many hands).

We all have room for improvement, and that's why most people are here. Keep reading and posting, and I like your chances. Good luck.

40 is not enough for the 10/20 games, period. myself and other 2+2ers who play in those games, albeit sh'd, have 20k swings almost monthly, and 30k swings every once in a while.

and about 4bb being a "fair edge", lmao. that is a great winrate in those games over the long run (at least 80-100k hands).

Hand 1: fold preflop most of the time. raise the turn and or flop. call the 2k on the river.

Hand 2: ugly hand to play OOP...dont open that for a raise in MP or earlier. i assume you made it 70. he calls HU w/ about 167 in pot. you bet 167 he calls so now about 500. you bet 500 he calls, so now 1500 in river. i may fold this to that outlandish push (you didn't give stacks so i assume about 6k or so and pot bets until the push). that means into into a 2k pot he pushes 4k.

you're getting 2:1 on the call here and are not good 1/3 times given that action. he has AK there virtually every single time. a lower straight would be forced to raise earlier.

i may lay this down on the river getting 2:1...DEFINATELY laying it down if i get under 1.2:1 (i.e. with a huge overbet)

Not that I have a better idea than you, but Hookz is the tightest I've seen at $10/$20. I think I've played .5/1 with him, too, and he was very rockish there.

I agree. I played a ton with Hookz during his journey through all the lower limits up til .5/1 earlier this year. He was the definition of a rock at those levels. I can't speak for where his game is now at these limits.

I have much more confidence in craze's reads on people in the high stars NL games more than any1 else who posts here (including myself). Enough said on the hookz subject.

Hand 2 just sucks, too bad, stack off. Hand 1 is tricky, and a fold can be found, but i don't know that it should be. Very ugly, and close spot. I believe both this hands were misplayed (though not horribly) on earlier streets. This happens, and causes tough situations like the ones OP is in. However I don't think they should be grouped together as hand 1 is simply a "i got a bad setup" hand. And hand 2 IMO is very interesting.

T7s should be played utg in this game, this deep at least some % of the time. The reasoning OP had behind playing it was awful, but preflop was ok. I believe a flop or turn raise is definitely in order here.
