Tex is SB, and has just under 1500, no one else has more than 750. Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I make a tester bet, $10 into a $24.00 pot. BB folds, MP raises to $55 Button folds, I call. Turn K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] I check, MP bets $25 River 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I check, MP goes all in for around $650 Possible hands villain holds here....K9, J10 straight, A flush, Q10, AQ (no preflop raise) or maybe KQ Can you EVER lay this down?? |

my gut said fold, my greed said call.
i think that this is a trap-hand. it should have been an easy fold though. i almost mucked because at best i'm probably getting a split. |

I really like your flop bet. By betting small you don't protect against a draw and you also may entice a raise from a worse hand that you can't feel comfortable calling.

Wow. Very hard to lay this down. I'm tempted to say that he had a better queen than you and you just split.
Would he limp with KK? 99 is probably out of the question. JTd is certainly a possibility given the way he played, but can you really give him credit for the straight flush? You probably have to make a crying call, but then again, I'm not sure that I've ever won a pot where someone bet 3x the pot on the river and I called with anything less than the nuts. Is he a good player? If he's good, you should be more scared. Bad, and he might make that bet with bottom full, a flush, or a straight. Any evidence he thinks you'll fold a queen? |

your risking $650 to win $100?
my guess is that he showed KQ and you were deader than fried chicken. |

Re: 600 NL...sick sick sick...did i mention this was a sick hand?
I'll just talk about the river play.
This is a spot where if I held your hand, I'd laugh a bit and think to myself, "he really could have made more money on this hand had he not played the river with the assumption that I'm a terrible, awful player". That being said, if I was the villain I'd make the exact same bet with the hand that beats QQQ99 (I count 4), because there are enough bad players out there that will make such a call that you get more value from this all-in move, than you would from betting 1.5x pot that even a good player will be hard pressed to fold for. As a 2+2er you should aspire to be the player that mucks this hand without typing a word into chat and plays the next hand. |

i'm not calling all that in hopes i'm splitting a 200 pot... fold and move on. KQ is most likely hear, I think he bet small on the turn to induce a raise from you after he filled up hoping you would come over with a lesser fullhouse or flush.
He senses that you are just trying to call down with your unmatched Q. Board pairs on the river and he pushes hoping he gets paid off by your lesser boat. |
