Stars is no doubt still far from Party on the revenue. But having the largest number of players shown in the lobby has important psychological impact.

"The largest" site doesn't mean the site that makes the most money. Party used to have banners that said "play with 70,000 players". This 70k included play money players too, but is still a key marketing message - "World's Largest Poker Room".

BTW, now, at 12:46 ET:

Party - 30,707
Stars - 33,762

About 2,000 remaining players in Stars two freerolls.

4.15pm
Party Poker 37,631 players
PokerStars 36,338

Do these stats even matter? Stars has 4 freerolls running with a total of 17,000 people in them. They also have games starting at 1c/2c where Party's start at 50c/$1.

Party is still the World's Largest by a long chalk and all the bashing on here is unbelievable. People are even wishing death on others!

Totally astounding. You'd think they had a god given right to play on Party with rakeback without having to load Party up. Let it lie for godsake!!

Just count the number of $3/$6 or $5/$10 games on each site. Party usually has 5-10x the number Stars does.

no comparison.

Wrong. The lobby numbers count remaining players not registered players. These 4 freerols had about 2,000 players in them as i wrote.

>They also have games starting at 1c/2c where Party's start at 50c/$1.

wrong again. Party has beginners tables which start 15c/30c.

But, yes, Party has more money games than Stars.

On the other hand, Stars $215 tourney has 3161 players and Party's $215 tourney that started at the same time has 2583 players.

So looking at 3 areas:

1) Party is larger than Stars in ring money games
2) Stars is larger than Party in money tournaments
3) They are very close in total number of players, where ring, tournament, and free games are included

You have to download the software and have it open, it says in the lobby.
