Default check/raise turned into a questionable fold?

villain 1 vpip 74% he's extremely passive postflop, only seen him bet a couple times

villain 2 vpip 22 pfr 8 he's also extremely passive postflop I have never seen him raise in 50 hands (or even continuation bet) but he does continuation bet about 80% of the time.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG ($217.23)
MP ($200)
CO ($217)
Button ($183.33)
Hero ($263.85)
BB ($186.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1.
UTG calls $2, 1 fold, CO raises to $8, 1 fold, Hero (poster) calls $7, 1 fold, UTG calls $6.

Flop: ($26) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $10, CO raises to $25, Hero folds?

I wanted to check/raise here although the more I think about it the more I think betting out would have been better

I think you should have re-raised pre-flop

This is so ugly right now, you might well have the best hand, but if you call you have a horrible turn spot and if you raise everything you beat folds and you end up spewing to a better hand. I would never find myself in this spot cause I pretty much always reraise preflop. I think it's a definite mistake not doing so here. I begrudgingly fold here and then curse when the rest of the streets are checked through and MPs pair of tens beat aq unimproved.
