Check this out. Got one as a wedding gift a little while back and I love it. Put the beans and water in, hit the timer switch and when you wake up in the morning you have hot coffee all day. I think it goes for $150 at Crate & Barrel. http://www.cuisinart.com/cgi-bin/ind...m_id=DGB-600BC

$100 at Costco. I keep looking at it, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I tried a coffee pot with a carafe and I thought the coffee cooled too quickly.

I had a Grind & Brew for a few years but it has a few flaws. For one, clean-up is not easy. (I had a earlier model, I'm assuming the same problem.) Also, the water & steam from brewing accumulated in the grinding unit (which is why it's hard to clean) and gradually seeped into the motor, where it corroded and froze the grinding unit.

For ease of use, convenience, and cleanup, these two work great.

Brew Central - 12 cup
Grind Central

Definitely get a grinder with detachable bowl. Easier to load into the coffee maker, can be put in dishwasher, and if you ever need to grind spices, works great for that too.

This is the only way to go.

I have the ultra b-50 at home and couldn't live without it. Plus you can order all kinds of different flavors. I recommend Green Mountain's "our blend" and "breakfast blend". Gloria Jeans has some really great ones too if you like french vanilla or mudslide or that kind of thing. A little on the expensive side though...like 30 cents a cup, but you can get a disount if you order a lot.
