Default 11 Handed Hold\'em

I will be heading to a local casino (well it’s 1hr away!) this weekend, and have found out that their poker tables seat 11. I will be playing limit hold’em, because I don’t think that they spread no-limit. Do I need to make any adjustments? Has anyone ever played 11-handed, and if so, how did you find it?

I have played it in tournaments before. Tighten up a tad over your normal full ring play, UTG especially. pretty much it's the same game though.

By asking where it was.

May I ask which casino you are going to?

I recently played in a ridiculously loose 11-handed game, where we saw a lot of 7-9-player flops. Keep in mind that the penalty for playing tight is slightly less than in a 10-handed game. The difference isn't incredibly significant though. I played for 3 hours in an 11-handed game without even noticing. Pots generally involved more people.

Thanks for the responses.

TKO, I will be heading to Blue Heron Casino in Port Perry on Mon. I have never played there before, and limit is not my game. I have only donked around in a few sessions of 3-6 in Vegas. So this should be interesting.

I recommend you go to any of the other casinos besides PP. Rama and Brantford are both much better. Port Perry is very poorly run, is too congested, has generally crappy dealers, and is one big hot-boxed room. Smoking at the table is permitted which is a huge con for someone like me who doesn't smoke. They also sell chips off the table which
is brutal when the dealer doesn't understand how to count. In my approximately 400 hours I have logged there, they have a dismal average of 23 hands/hour during the times I've kept track (which isn't always).

As for the 11-handedness. Titghten up slightly in the early positions, and you can play a few more hands in the later positions (especially if there are 6+ limpers in). The only real difference you'll notice is a lack of elbow room at the table.

Thanks for the advice, Brom. Unfortunately, I have no say in the matter. I will be in the area with my family, so that is where I will be playing. At least it sounds like a really well run room.
