You are really going to like Albert Collins. Check it out.

I saw Albert Collins perform at the dining hall at my college many years ago and it was the single greatest concert I have ever seen.

Don't listen to anything proporting to be blues that is:
1. Made by white guys
2. Made after 1972

Zepplin's biggest influence was electric chicago blues, mostly on Chess records, mostly recorded from 1950-64. That is the good stuff...
Brief Sampler:
Elmore James
Muddy Waters
Willie Dixon
Howlin Wolf
Big Joe Turner
Etta James (pre 1963)

[/ QUOTE ]

This guy has it right.

try:
t-model ford
cedell davis
r.l. burnside
skip james
blind willie mctell
robert johnson

and .. YES the white stripes !
so what if they're not a 'blues' band, they are a great band to listen to if you like the blues. just with a mix of garage rock'n'roll!
