I agree, and as i said, i don't you winning this pot unless you improve. You are going to call the flop c/r, because an 8 is almost always good, a 9 might be, and a king might be. I would give you like 6 outs here. Basically, on the turn, you're gonna have to play poker. You will be getting about 6-1 when he bets, and if you think you have enough outs from there, call and fold the river UI. Showing down this hand if you don't improve is not important, and i don't think getting him off a hand is either, i really can't think of much you will be able to get him off. [/ QUOTE ] Good post. I agree. I'm usually going to call the turn also unless it's an Ace. |

Re: two 9\'s vs a tough player.
I think it's very important to know what the turn is... the flop, to me, is fairly obvious, call the checkraise and reevaluate on turn...
The turn was, I believe, a 10... it was either that or a J, but it paired the board... if the turn was a 2, I would have folded your hand, but a 10 is really a pretty good card for you... probably gives you 6 outs 85% of the time and 10 outs 20-30% of the time. so, 6 outs getting 6-1 is a bit short, but if you add in the other 4 outs 25% of the time, you have almost 7. I think it's close, just based on trying to make the best hand. |

i think you should fold to the CR. [/ QUOTE ] I dont understand this thinking at all. i mean i understand the possibility of tainted outs and such, but against a guy this solid/aggressive I think that is really weak. |

Re: two 9\'s vs a tough player.
hes almost certainly behind and has reverse implied odds issues...
i guess the fact that he has pos means he should peel one and fold the turn UI... an 8 is gonna make him a likely winner, so i was wrong... i wasnt paying too much attention and saw everyone discussing raising the turn and thought... yuck, get outta there! ok, call. sick thing is im playing right now. total autopilot. LHE can get boring. |

Chris is one tough hombre
I am replying to this post because I only know two players from the Minnesota crew and Chris is one of them and he is a fantastic player.
Why not check on the flop, no one has said this. What card is going to fly off on 4th that is going to hurt you if you are not already in bad shape. Chris is a smart thinking player, he knows a 3 bet preflop could easily be a medium pair or worse from a tricky player. Now if you check the flop, you put him in a real quandry especially considering you have position. I have been trying this play alot in 100 games and higher and so far I really like the results. Tell Chris and Kirby, that Jasper from Commerce said whut up. |
