Default Pokertracker Psychology

Ok, I've been reading these boards for quite a while and rarely post. Been playing poker with modest success for about 2 years now, nothing earthshattering, but a steady climb of the bankroll with the usual downswings ect. I considered myself to be pretty good at the phychological aspect of not being results oriented and looking at the big picture. That is until I got Pockertracker.

After reading so much about it on these boards, I finally got Pockertracker a couple months ago. Every since that time, I feel this constant need to check my pockertracker numbers while playing. If I lose a hand I automatically want to run to see what data I have on the opponent. Where and why did this sudden obsession come from?

I have the exact same problem, I don't know why I do it but I have a "sollution" for it. Don't use pt while you are playing, update the stats like once every week instead, so you don't have the option to look at it after every hand.

My 2 cents.

Are using the Pokerace HUD along with PT? That way you can see your opponents stats right on the table.

No I am not. I probably need to add this. Thanks. I know the solutions to what I see is my problem,I just don't understand the sudden urge to rely on it so much.

I don't know. I never do that. Sometimes I don't even bother to check it at the end of the day.
