Its a real photo. Its actually happened a couple of times. There are reasons to believe that burmese pythons may have actually established themselves in the Everglades, unlike retics and some other large boids that prosper, but haven't yet bred as an invasive species.
There are some great photos from December two years ago of a Burmese python in the midst of a struggle with an alligator--I can't bother digging it up, but it was on one of the snake forums I frequent a few years ago. |

People release pets and they do it. This equals more of these living in an area. Oscars are now all over the place in Flordia from people throwing them in lakes.
