LOL the "W" and "S" are pretty close to each other.

As I said there are times I just call a bet because I'm so confused on whether I have a winner or not - then I scoop the pot LOL

At least I'm honest and at least I know that even though I'm a wave short of the shore in LO8 - there are many more even farther from the shore.

My motto is - don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself - it'll happen anyway.

I kind of like "There is more to this game than you think", but I have a rather dry sense of humor.

There is - everybook you read says 90% of the game is starting cards. Which in one sense is true but after there there is an entire onion to peel that is what really makes this game great.

This is a decent motto for you. Another candidate might be "ignorance is bliss" or, if you're looking for something that cuts straight to the bone, "being utterly oblivious makes life simple."

Well, I guess that I was wrongly told I didn't win.
It was a live game at guy's house - and since I dunno a damn thing about this game, I asked twice to explain and was told "you'll get it after awhile"...It was a $10 buy-in so I wasn't exactly pissed, but I did think I won.

So basically, the rule here is that I have to use 2 of my cards and 3 of the boards cards ONLY? In other words, if I were to have K234 and the board is AQJ109, i'd have to play my K and 4 and have a hand of A-K-Q-J-4 (completely hypothetical, I dont need anyone telling me, "why are you playing K234?")

Is this right?! If so, i get it now

I really like this game, I'm just confused w/ the rules

I'm a Hold'em player who recently has taken up O8 and after about 3,800 hands I'm 1.5BB/100 in the hole which is pissing me off. (Yeah, I know the sample is too small)

Thanks, for the thread guys. What a confidence booster.

And it's good to get a good laugh in the morning.
