i never flatcall. i always raise that to about 6k or fold. with no read, i'd probably fold that.

yea i think i like a raise to 6k, not too expensive and i think he folds there a bit, and if not, i probably get to see a free river (or i have an easy fold if he comes back over the top)

I had a great time in this tournament. Very first hand after the rebuy period, I flop an open-end straight flush draw, and get all-in against a guy with top set. Now that's a power confrontation.

Turn makes me a flush, river makes him a boat. I'm down to T10 (!) and just to add insult to injury, pick up QQ the next hand. Sure would have liked to have T16000 with QQ rather than T10, but anyway, I obviously bust out soon after.

But now that I realize I wasn't in the LL tonight, I feel better. It's like winning, except without the money.

I don't think it would be a bad play to overbet the pot. Your praying he has AQ, though unlikely with the check/calls. Maybe JJ/1010 calls?

It's nitpicky but I raise to at least a full 3xBB preflop. I'm not a huge fan of the flat call on the flop, unless you're setting up a turn bet that you think the SB is capable of folding to. Depending on my read of SB I either raise or fold that flop. Then again, I'm already out of this one (rough night)

Villan was by far the most active player at the table and I had been super tight because of terrible cards. This hand was ugly, just wondering what you guys think.

I think after the blinds get to 200/400 the 2.5BB raise has very close to the same FE, and keeps the pot a bit more manage-able.

Plus i steal more when the blinds get lower, so my smaller raise = more profit, if the FE is the same, which i think it is.
