FWIW I read Colgin's blog and it's really good.

Thanks, dude. FWIW, I read bdk's blog (www.pokerfilter.org) and it helps me wade through the poker world morass. (End of mutual back patting.)

Currently 700sq ft 1bd Apt, $540 a month in Austin, Tx. I need very little space so it suites me fine.

My previous place for the past 2 years
3 roommates
2000 sq ft house, rent was $1600, my share $400. I do miss it. It was great to have the stereo up loud and not have to worry about neighbors.

1 bedroom place in San Deigo in the North Park area. I've got a nice size room, big kitchen, washer & dryer, a fireplace; its great. Thanks to an uncle, I've got for the insanely low price of 400.

$3000/month w/1.5 months rent amortized over a 10 month period.

1,500 sq feet on the hudson river. 2 bed, 2 bath & poker room (office for computer). Gym included, parking $175/month. On the Hudson river overlooking the (former) WTC.

Jersey isn't the best, but rent is cheep (my place would be like 9 bills or more in Manhattan) and taxes are low.
I'm getting rid of the car soon, so it won't be as pleasant living here in '06.

875 is great

I dunno--I live in a studio in a crappy building in South Williamsburg (by the Marcy JMZ stop.) Do you really think I'm getting that good of a deal? I think what I'm paying is about right.

[/ QUOTE ]

My girlfriend was just looking for a studio/one-bedroom right around that area, $875 seems like a decent deal compared to what stuff is going for on the market right now, unless its really small.

9 Bills seems a bit exagerated. I've seen comparable 2 brs in luxury bldgs in Manhattan nowhere that price.

$1k/month. 1 BR/1 BA in West Hollywood, right off of the Sunset Strip near the Viper Room. 1 covered/gated parking spot, no pool or security.

I feel like I got a pretty good deal. Condos in my area go for about $400K, so I'm renting for the time being.

$1200/month - southside williamsburg, brooklyn, ny

- about a 7 min walk to the lorimer stop on the L, 2 min walk to JMZ. my street is pretty and tree-lined, the surrounding ones aren't as nice.

- classified as a one bedroom, it's the whole 3rd floor of a brownstone. it has a bedroom, 2 offices, livingroom, and seperate kitchen.

- the building is nice, landlord lives downstairs and is friendly. the carpet kinda sucks though. oh well - i still love my apartment.
