22 - Aces, ugly flop
Party 22
Level 1. SB completes. I raise to 90 with A-A. SB calls. We have ~800 each. Flop: K-Q-J. I bet 150. SB check raises all in. Standard fold? |

Re: 22 - Aces, ugly flop
Hmm. With the gutshot, overpair, I think it's close but I would call (with almost 1/3 of your stack already in). His bet smells like two pair or K10 and lower. 9 outs turn, 12 outs river if you miss on turn and thats if you are actually behind.

Re: 22 - Aces, ugly flop
I'd probably give a lot of thought to folding this. It's a tough fold, but there will be better places to get your money. I think there's too great of a chance he has 2 pair. Also, I've seen this play with AK. So I guess I've talked in circles around my own logic. It's just a tough spot.

I spite-call, even if I think I'm behind.

[/ QUOTE ] no. anybody [a good player] with K K-J J would've most likely reraised preflop and if they didn't, what dumb way to maximize a return on trips. also, if someone has the only other hands that i would fear, A 10 and 10 9, both of which would have also been played the flop poorly [from a maximizing standpoint], i'd still call. |

Re: 22 - Aces, ugly flop
I call fully expecting to see K-rag or K10/Q10/J10. If he has me beat here I'm surprised.

[/ QUOTE ] i wouldn't. i just take notes on the fact that he played a monster hand poorly. chances are, he's a bad player. if you're gonna play a hand this way on the flop [at this level], chances are you played it poorly whether you have trips, a str8, or K 10/Q 10/J 10. |

Re: 22 - Aces, ugly flop
the only hands i'd advocate the all-in with on the flop in a ($22) is two pair or A K. other than that, i feel villain could've made more money if he bet lower.
