Slightly OT: PS2 Technical Help

My PS2 has stopped reading DVDs, funny enough it still is reading a Ps1 disc I have.
With DVDs it spins, stops, spins, stops, the spins normally but doesn't read the disc, then the Disc Read Error
The Ps1 disc spins normally and reads the disc normally. I have it opened up and have cleaning it out of dust, etc, and in the process of looking for rubbing alc. to clean the laser. Anything else or other ways I should try cleaning it? ANy other ideas?

I used one of those DVD HU cleaners on mine and it worked great.
