[ QUOTE ] I play it the same. [/ QUOTE ] me too, if it were HU going into the river then I like betting a lot more. [/ QUOTE ] Right, HU can I find a bet, but with 2 opponents, I think it's very, very thin, and the J on the river blows. |

I play it the same. EDIT: I see I'm out of line with some posters, so I'll elaborate. Busted draws and ace-high wont call, so for the bet to have value, you must put one (or both) of your opponents on an 8X, or a pocket pair like 77, 66, 55, or 33. Head up, I would bet. In a 3-way pot, I think the chances are too good that you are getting called by a T or J. [/ QUOTE ] i agree. it's so trendy now to just say "bet the river" no matter what. QJ, Q9, J9, 79 which are all very possible now beat you, and the flush didn't come so those hands are folding anyways. |

You guys that like checking behind are ignoring the fact that you will quite often get called by A-high here, especially by UTG if BB folds.
The only way I don't bet this is if I one of the villains is in love with check-raising. |

I dont think an ace calls here very often, even if he is closing the action and not overcalling.

check the river, but it's close. gushot and OESD type hands just made top pair (or a str8). It's unlikely u're against a ten as one would generally bet/ c/r on this low of a board. Depends a ton on reads though, against two super donks, i like a bet. They did check to u on the river though and if u have any question about folding to a c/r, then check, if u can safely, it pushes it toward bet.
Overall, it seems like the EV of the river is so close to neutral that I'm not sure it matters much. Against unkowns, i kind of like seeing what they had though. So i just wasted a lot of space and i'm still not really sure. |

I do agree that it is fairly close. I check here, but I dont think betting is awful.

you get bluff raised approximately 0 percent of the time here.
you only have to be good 50% of the time (or 33% of the time if both call) and i think you're good on both those accounts. the J doesnt change anything and there is a flush draw that missed (and its very possible that one person was on the flush draw so now you only have to beat 1 opponent). i really like betting here but i could be wrong. |

the J doesnt change anything [/ QUOTE ] Say what? think about some hands, if this were a K, i would be more inclined to agree. |

I highly doubt that your average opponent at 3/6 will check-raise a river, particularly after showing weakness on all streets. If this was a higher limit and opponent was a thinking TAG, or known 2+2er or something, I would check here. But knowing whether or you are going to pay two bets or one is a huge factor in this decision. Because of this I think it's a bet.
